Fossil Original Boyfriend Quartz Chronograph Blue Leather Strap ES3838 Women’s Watch
I work in an automobile factory as the senior machinist and believe it or not, our boss is a woman. Yes, she rose to her current position as Chief Designer due to her awesome ability to churn out beautiful car designs. Our company makes beautiful, custom hand-made cars. My boss does the designing and I supervise the body machining. Each car is hand-made to exacting standards and the outcome is, well, exotic.
My boss would be celebrating her 50thbirthday and I thought we should organize a small party. The company was doing well, had a huge order list, the workers were paid well and everyone at the company was happy. So why not have a party?
We elected our senior foreman as the organizer for the party and, I was elected to buy her a suitable gift. I thought it was an easy job until I realized, that a gift for the chief designer meant gifting her something that spelt class in every way possible. As if that in itself was not tough enough, I was told that my budget should be around AUD 150-ish. They didn’t ask for much did they?
It took me four days of searching; bags, shoes, clothes, accessories and while looking at accessories, I saw a gorgeous mannequin wearing an amazing outfit. But what caught my eye was the watch that was strapped on to the mannequin’s wrist. Some more ‘googling’ and I found out it was theFossilOriginal Boyfriend Quartz Chronograph Blue Leather Strap ES3838 Women’s Watch.
The watch was definitely a perfect fit for my boss. It wasn’t the usual feminine watch and also, it had features that were unusual for a feminine watch. Exactly like my boss – an unusual, very talented female.
The price tag for the watch on the first website I visited read AUD 275 – way beyond budget. Disheartened, I was about to look for another gift idea when I thought of searching the net for theFossil Original Boyfriend Quartz Chronograph Blue Leather Strap ES3838 Women’s Watchand seeing if I could get it at a cheaper price elsewhere. I’m glad I did.
I found this site called downunderwatches.com that retailed several dozen watch brands and hundreds of models. More importantly, they had the Fossil Original Boyfriend Quartz Chronograph Blue Leather Strap ES3838 Women’s Watch and hold your breath, it was priced at AUD 160 (after tax and a hefty AU $91 discount). I couldn’t believe my luck!
I sent the link of the mannequin as well as the link to the watch atdownunderwatches.comto all my colleagues. They agreed it would be an excellent gift and so I bought it.
As promised by the website, the watch was delivered in a lovely box. It had the user leaflet and also the international warranty card. Everything was perfect. I quickly gift wrapped it and added a birthday card that was signed by all the workers.
The birthday party (it was kept a secret), was awesome. My boss was ecstatic and said she loved the watch. Someday perhaps, I shall blog on the birthday party; till then, cheers!

In response to your request for a review on my purchase from DOWNUNDERWATCHES I can say the following, I address myself for this particular watches to DOWNUNDERWATCHES since they claim to be Australia's premier online watches store. This particular model is not available in store in Australia, not that I know off, therefore the advertised Australia's premier online watch store induce me to believe that the item was available in Australia but only from online orders. It turn out not to be so but from Singapore apparently. So, the claim that delivery is made within three days turn out to be three weeks. This detail should be indicated clearly to people in Australia. Other than that the delivery was made by DHL and the watch received in good condition some ten days latter. The watch is exactly as I expected it would be, well packaged, no complaint whatsoever to make about it. It would be better for the retailer to indicate that the delivery to Australia will required two weeks instead of saying next to day of dispatching leaving the impression that the goods is from an Australian distributor which physically it is not. Orient watches are not well represented in Australia by retailers if not at all. Seiko dominates the market amongst other brand. Orient is no more made in Japan as it was in the past, the factory with the name Epson is now in Thailand, the product is still of high quality and genuine as it has been expected from the original manufacturer in previous years from Japan. Epson has absorbed the brand name Orient which remains nevertheless a high quality product originally exclusively from Japan. Orient watches are of high quality until today.
Hi Patrice,
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re glad the watch arrived in good condition and met your expectations. We also appreciate your notes about delivery times and origins—this helps us improve how we communicate shipping details for our Australian customers.
The watch was as good as I expected, being refurbished and works accurately with minor blemishes. "Downunderwatches" is Singapore based, so I was surprised to have to pay additional fees for the foreign import.
